Types of modeling

We are going to give an overview of each type of modeling

Runway modeling and or fashion modeling

There is a minimum height of 5.8ft although there are rare exceptions i.e. Kate Moss. Also, slender frame, as no matter what is currently in fashion a slim body is a must.

Other than this, it is necessary to have whatever the fashion industry deems to be a prized commodity at that given moment, i.e. a face or figure that sparks their interest and is seen as interesting or different enough to catch their eye.

As a result of this it does not necessarily mean that the girl that is considered to be the most beautiful in her school or in a nightclub will make a suitable model. It can often be the most odd or initially strange looking girls that can catch the eye of agencies or photographers.

fashion model Karen Elson began fashion modeling represented by Boss Agencies in Manchester as a teenager when I was also beginning my travels. She was short, heavier and less noticeably pretty than many of the other fashion models. Yet, she had some charm that was recognized to be ‘different’ and she fitted in with a moment in fashion which she has managed to build a career on, and good for her! Do not be deterred if you think that you are not ‘perfect’. Maybe consider your imperfections to be one of your assets to get ahead. If you don’t succeed at first with a good agency then consider meeting others or even revisiting some months later. Fashion is extremely fickle and harsh as it seems and excuse the pun but one mans rubbish is another mans treasure! Sometimes half the battle is not taking no for an answer mixed with a lot of luck!
